Background
The Life of a Showgirl is the upcoming twelfth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The album is set to be released on October 3, 2025 by Republic Records. The entire album is produced by Max Martin, Shellback and Swift, Martin and Shellback first worked with Swift on several songs on Red, Red (Taylor’s Version), 1989, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and reputation. Seven versions of the album with different covers were released to Swift’s store for a limited time. An eighth version was released exclusively to Apple Music. A ninth version was released as a vinyl exclusively to Target. A track by track version was released exclusively to Amazon Music on the day the album’s release and to wider retail on October 7th. Four more versions with acoustics tracks and a voice memo was released to Taylor’s official store on October 5, 2025. From October 6 to October 8 Swift released the “Alone in My Tower Acoustic Version”, “Dress Room Rehearsal Version”, “Life is a Song Acoustic Version” and “Glamorous Cabaret Version” as deluxe editions each containing two extra bonus voice memos. On October 9, 2025 released the “So Punk on the Internet Version” containing six previously released voice memos along with a voice memo for “Eldest Daughter”.

“The Fate of Ophelia” was released as the album’s first single on October 3, 2025.
